主讲人概况：Dr. Li obtained his PhD from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2012. After his PhD, Dr. Li continued his postdoctoral research in NUS, The University of Sydney and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently, Dr. Li is Senior Lecturer in Teesside University. Dr. Li is an associate editor for two SCI indexed journals in recognizing his excellent scientific achievements and research leadership. Dr. Li’s research is focused on computational mechanics, including multi-scale modelling of advanced engineering materials and structures, biomechanics, topology optimization, acoustic analysis, development of novel numerical methods in fluid dynamics and solid mechanics, structural health monitoring (SHM). Dr. Li is the author of over 70 peer-reviewed journal publications including many top class computational mechanics journals. Dr. Li received two prestigious Best Paper Awards in ICCM 2015 Auckland and ICCM 2014 Cambridge respectively. Dr. Li was a recipient of International Computational Method Young Investigator Award in ICCM 2019 Singapore. Dr. Li is also a Chartered Engineer of IMech.
Traditional material design is based on chemical reaction, which is quite time consuming and expensive. In this talk, we design novel materials and structures from internal components instead of chemical constituents. Several efficient algorithms will be introduced in this talk to address the locking, uncertainty and coupling problems. The advanced computational algorithm presented in this talk will provide an effective tool to aid the novel design of multifunctional materials and structures.
